Dr Jill Stuart

Dr Jill Stuart is an academic based at the London School of Economics. Since March 2013 she has been Editor in Chief of the journal Space Policy. Space Policy is the pre-eminent academic journal on the topic, published since 1985. She is the 2015 British Science Association Margaret Mead Award Lecture winner, in recognition of her cutting edge research.

Dr Stuart’s research focuses primarily on the politics, law, theory and governance of outer space. This ranges from the study of satellite regulations to the nature of state sovereignty for objects in space. She has secondary interests and expertise in the global commons more generally (the high seas and Antarctica). Her media work and publications reflect these interests, with recent activity out on the subjects of outer space.

Dr Stuart regularly comments for the media and gives public lectures on her area of expertise, and is happy to be contacted with queries of this type. Dr Stuart can also be followed on Twitter: @DrJillStuart
